We are very pleased to introduce our own exclusive take on the classic Breton top, The “Etienne”. The Breton stripe shirt was first introduced in 1858 as the uniform for all French navy seaman in Northern France. The original design featured 21 stripes, one for each of Napoleon Bonaparte’s victories and the distinctive stripes made it easier to spot sailors who had fallen overboard! They have now become a timeless wardrobe staple and we believe that our “Etienne” is an absolute must.
They are made of a lovely soft 100% cotton, perfect for anytime of year. The four contrast buttons are fully functional, making it easier to put on and off, and ensuring a good fit at the neck.
Styling these tops is so easy. They will look fab with trousers, jeans or shorts in Summer. Pop a Harrington, or one of our cool jackets on top for Autumn. Why not combine with it a pair of our shoes or corduroy boots? just add your favourite jeans for a “Go To” Outfit.
Sizing wise these are not slim fit, so you shouldn’t need to go up. With Gabicci I have an XL, in these a L.
