He we have The “Strike” Bowling shoes by Mod Shoes
When we very first started Mod Shoes we was asked for “Chisel Toe” bowling shoes, like the one from the 80’s, the type that “Shelleys” used to sell. It has taken this long to find a good supplier, and also get as close as possible to the shape. This style of design is only available from Mod Shoes
Notice that the front is much slimmer and less rounded than other bowling shoes on the market. And copied from a pair from the 80’s.
Also we wanted to do a good bowling shoe, so that the leather upper is super soft, and supple. Literally no wearing in ! The sole has an extra grip piece added at the front. So if you are wearing these out and about, you aren’t going to slip over (But if you do, you cant sue Mod Shoes)!
Sizing
Stick with size, unless you are super wide fitting. The design means they are more suitable to normal width, but a sizer bigger doesnt look big. We have had some back for being too big, please note that the leather is super soft, so if in between sizes, go down, not up. I am wideish 8.5 in my right foot, and an 8 was very good for me.

Please Note that are shoes are made mainly in Spain & Portugal and Euro to UK Conversion means that the shoes normally come up a little big. The reason is that a 43, is more like 9 and 1/4.

A solid performer, these bowling shoes are not only aesthetically pleasing by using a chisel toe (rather than a clownish round toe), they are also super comfortable—and roomy enough to accept Birkenstock metatarsal inserts for extra comfort with either proper dress socks in summer or heavier crew socks in cooler weather. I think the secret to this must be a slightly taller upper in the body of the shoe because the overall width profile remains sleek and trim. Got ‘em in stunning burgundy and black; looking forward to the next release in blue or blue / black two tone.

Lovely and soft leather so very comfortable. I brought a 43 as I am usually a size 9 and quite a wide fitting. I probably should have brought a 42 and so wear thicker pair of socks. The width is perfect for my wide feet.

Ordered Bowlers to take on holiday, stupidly didn’t try on when arrived.
I’d say mine came up a good size bigger. Luckily managed to get away with wearing them on holiday due to their nice quality, soft leather. So they moulded to my feet rather than rub at the heal, with the aid of an added plaster & thick socks.
So reading reviews maybe order a half size or one down depending on preference.

Beautiful bowlers – got two sizes (regular size and one down) and glad I did as I definitely needed the smaller pair. Really perfect shape and fit and hardly feel them on. Look great with jeans and sta press trousers. Also good grippy sole so no slipping on the scoot. Now deciding on which colour to get next – if you want great classic shape and look bowlers, no need to look around and just buy these…..but remember sizing !
