He we have “The Strike” Bowling shoes by Mod Shoes
When we very First started Mod Shoes we were asked for “Chisel Toe” bowling shoes, like the ones from the 80s, the type that “Shelleys” used to sell. It has taken this long to find a good supplier, and also get as close as possible to the shape. This style of design is only available from Mod Shoes
Notice that the front is much slimmer and less rounded than other bowling shoes on the market. And copied from an original pair from the 80’s.
Also we wanted to do a good bowling shoe, so the leather upper is super soft, and supple. Literally no wearing in ! The sole has an extra grip piece added at the front. So if you are wearing these out and about, you aren’t going to slip over (But if you do, you can’t sue Mod Shoes)!
Sizing
Stick with size, unless you are super wide fitting. The design means they are more suitable to normal width, but a sizer bigger doesn’t look big. We have had some back for being too big, please note that the leather is super soft, so if in between sizes, go down, not up. I am wideish 8.5 in my right foot, and an 8 was very good for me.
Upper: Leather
Sole : Man Made
Sizes 40(6) – 46(12)
We also do a ladies version in some colours
Mens Sizing
We use the following size conversions. Please be aware that different designs are designed to be bigger than others. We try our best on the product page to mention sizing.
Men’s Sizes
UK | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12 |
Euro | 40 | 41 | 42 | 43 | 44 | 45 | 46 |
US | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12 | 13 |
Please Note that are shoes are made mainly in Spain & Portugal and Euro to UK Conversion means that the shoes normally come up a little big. The reason is that a 43, is more like 9 and 1/4.

Bought a pair of dark brown. Classy shoe, very stylish and great quality. The only thing that I found was that they were big fitting, I normally wear a size seven but had to go to a six. All said and done they are a brilliant shoe , well done.

About time Bowling shoes came out in Brown and Modsboes are the ones to do it.The fit and comfort is spot on and they are a 100 times better than DJs and vast improvement on the Shelleys which used to rub your toes to he’ll. 10 out of 10.

‘andsome..Very nice,well made bowling shoes.
The fact these have a chisel toe sets them apart from the rest.If I had one criticism, it would be the laces are way too long but thats being picky…

I have owned a few pairs of bowling shoes in my time by DJ/Ikon, but these are the nicest quality, most comfortable and sharpest looking by a mile.

I consider myself I stylist and have avoided bowling shoes since the age of 13 back in the early eighties. All this time later these shoes caught my eye. The slim line and squared toe was a cut above other shoes in this field. A more Italian vibe to my eyes. Have to say the quality of the leather is just superb. You could wear these with mohair trousers as well as sta prest. Fantastic
