Oxblood Tassel Loafer – The Duke by Modshoes
Yes by us! We are always looking for different style tassel loafers, so when we came across this design we just had to get them made.
These shoes have been made by a Spanish company that has been making shoes for over 2 generations. They are hand made in a small factory in a small town. When I visited, there were rows of Tassel Loafers and these popped out at me. I had not seen the style before.
The beef roll you will notice on the front, is cut very well and trimmed so the stitching looks almost smooth. The upper and sole are both leather.
The styling is more like a Bass Weejun and not as chunky as a Rudeboy style loafer
Sizing wise, they come up very like the UK, so keep to your size on these.
I will mention again that these are exclusive to us, and you will not find them anywhere else.
Specs
Upper Leather
Sole Leather
Sizes 6 – 12
Here are some images of the shoes with Trousers. We did these shots so you could see the shoes with trousers you possibly own already, and get a feel for how they look.
Mens Sizing
We use the following size conversions. Please be aware that different designs are designed to be bigger than others. We try our best on the product page to mention sizing.
Men’s Sizes
UK | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12 |
Euro | 40 | 41 | 42 | 43 | 44 | 45 | 46 |
US | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12 | 13 |
Please Note that are shoes are made mainly in Spain & Portugal and Euro to UK Conversion means that the shoes normally come up a little big. The reason is that a 43, is more like 9 and 1/4.

A great all round shoe, worn whist on the road with the stone foundation boys

I waited for a long time for these loafers to come back in stock, and boy am I glad to own a pair of this classic, stylish and slick shoes. They go perfectly well with casual or formal attire, and complement any mod/skin/rude boy outfit I choose to wear on the day.
I sported them to my younger brother’s 50th birthday bash and some of the guys were asking me where did I get them from.
I prefer this style of loafer to the meatier looking traditional rude boy loafer and the quality of finish is second to none.
Kudos to Mod Shoes, I can safely say I am a very satisfied customer!!!!

Looked at the many Loafers on offer here in Modshoes and settled for these pair. Turned up right on cue in the post, really fast delivery. Packaging was spot on and opened up the box and just WOW! Tried them on in and just fit like a glove. Slightly narrow on first trying them on but soon fitted perfectly. But saying that, most shoes are narrow on my feet as years in the Army made them like a walking duck-billed platypus. A Few Soul doo’s later and just really comfortable. The detail on these shoes are puuurrrrfection and immaculate stitching and detail. If you like style just buy em. Smell the leather, lovely.
While I’m on here , I might as well buy another pair of shoes. !!! hehe thanks Andrew for finding these from Spain.

Whether dubbed ‘The Duke’ after Ellington, Pearson or Reid, this beautifully-designed loafer is certainly styled with the all the hallmarks of those musical legends in mind. A shoe that’s sophisticated, snazzy and Ska-friendly.

These shoes have been compared to Bass Weejuns but,in my opinion they are far superior both
in build quality and wearability.A truly versatile item of footwear, equally at home with Levi’s or a top
line Tonik suit.As to fit I haven’t got the best feet in the world but these shoes fit like a glove and were just as comfortable.

These shoes are one of the best loafers I have seen in a long long time. If you like Bass Weejuns and other Trad, Mod, Ivy, Classic hand-sewn loafers you will appreciate the quality of the build, materials, the attention to fine detail, and finish of these shoes. The shoes have a long old school vamp (many modern loafers have too short a vamp). Both the burgundy and chestnut colours are rich and can be worn with any outfit, both casual and dress.
There is nothing that will dissapoint you about these loafers from the moment you open the box and smell the leather to wearing them with a pair of levi 501’s
