Based on a pair of shoes from the late 70s, these shoes evoke so many memories. Personally I can remember people round our way in these. Mod Shoes was lucky enough to have a friend that had owned a pair since 1981, which we think, was the last time you could actually buy something like this.

Almost impossible to find TRUE basket weave tassel loafers in this style these days, you get the odd pair on ebay, but they are not common place.

The shoes look really good in real life. In terms of wearing I had a pair on my feet straight out the box at Skeggy Northern Soul weekender recently, and report no issues at all. They felt great and comfortable with no rubbing.

Be aware like all loafers, they will grow up to 1/4 of an inch after 2 hours or so. These did for me.

In terms of sizing these are very true to UK sizing, so stick with your UK size. Be aware they are roomy in style so if this is your first pair of loafers in a while do expect them to feel wider than normal High Street shoes.

PLEASE BE AWARE, these are a scaled down version of the men’s Allnighter. The sizing for women is good, but they are a little wider than high street shoes. The sizing is also based on men’s sizing ie the size UK 5 is a Euro 39 which is about half a size bigger than a regular ladies 5. You may wish to try a size smaller, or take two sizes to find the best fit. You can return the less well-fitting pair for free (UK mainland only)
Also when trying the shoes on, they must be snug and not loose. A loafer grows by about 1/8 to 1/4 inch after 4 – 5 hours. Our advice is if you try them and they are loose, send them straight back for a smaller size. If they are a little snug put on some thick socks and watch telly for 4 – 5 hours and they will be good.
